Dünyanın sonundaki küçük bir köyde çalışan bir postacı, bir gün çok farklı birşey yapmayı dener; dağıtması gereken mektupları, kendi yazdığı mektuplarla değiştirir. Köylüler postacının kendi yazdığı mektupları çok severler çünkü bunlar polis memurundan köyün serserisine, şişman kadınlardan kilisenin papazına, hatta huysuz politikacıya kadar herkesi güldürmekte, herkesi mutlu etmektedir. Fakat postane bu olayı öğrendiğinde işler değişecektir.

In a tiny village at the end of the world a postman has a completely original approach to his job. He substitutes the mail he is supposed to deliver with letters he himself has written. The villagers love these missives because they make everyone laugh – from tramp to policeman, from large lady to vicar, even the grumpy publican – his letters delight them all. But then the regional post office gets wind of the affair...
